Flight Simulator X was honored by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences as "Simulation Game of the Year" at the 10th annual Interactive Achievement Awards on February 8th in Las Vegas, Nevada. AIAS award winners are chosen in a secret ballot by Academy members, representing our peers throughout the interactive entertainment industry.
Microsoft's Aces Games Studio manager Shawn Firminger said, "I'm extremely proud of the effort and dedication put forth by everyone in our Studio that helped make Flight Simulator X the best version yet. On behalf of the team, thanks to the AIAS and its members for this honor."
All told, it was an excellent year for Microsoft's Games Studios, winning ten out of the thirty awards given. As they say, it's an honor just to be nominated, but it feels great to win, too!
