Some great news from VATSIM: Brian Gefrich and Joel DeYoung are pleased to announce that after a long wait, a public beta of SquawkBox 4 is now available.
This new version works with Flight Simulator 2002, 2004, and (finally!) FSX. It has been tested on Microsoft Windows XP and Vista.
You can download this latest beta version and help find and resolve the last outstanding bugs from the main Squawkbox site:
www.squawkbox.ca
Please use the Squawkbox forums to report or discuss any issues:

The following issues are already known to occur:
- The transponder module may toggle to "ACTIVE" when connecting to a server, regardless of current setting. You may still set the transponder to STANDBY mode after the connection is made.
- Switching your sound device in the settings while receiving a voice transmission can cause crashes.
VATSIM is a global volunteer organization of flight simulation hobbyists who use donated network resources to create a virtual on-line ATC environment. Most VATSIM members are dedicated to participating in an "as real as it gets" online ATC environment using real-world procedures and practices to the greatest extent possible. Squawkbox is one of two software products that enable virtual pilots to connect to and fly on the network.

See you online!
