About Free Flight

"Free Flight" is the FSInsider section devoted to the wide-open "sandbox" that is the Flight Simulator world.

My name is Hal Bryan, and I'm now the proud bearer of the unlikely title Flight Simulator Community Evangelist. I'm a pilot (second generation), aviation fanatic, and a former Software Test Engineer, not to mention notary public, ex-police officer, and super genius. I've been working on Flight Simulator titles since the summer of 1998, and I was a customer for 17 years before that, a fact that just about everyone I work with is sick and tired of having thrown in their faces.

With more than 20 aircraft and an entire world of airports and scenery (not to mention hundreds of thousands of add-ons), there's no end of things to explore in Flight Simulator. In this section I'll share news and articles about things to fly and see. I'll offer tips and suggestions. Most importantly though, I'll use this pulpit as an excuse to do as much interesting flying (both simulated and real-world) as I can.

In addition, whenever the planets line up just so, I do some writing on my blog that may or may not be of interest. To read for yourself, click the hyperlink that contains the uniform resource locator for the hypertext transport protocol address right ... about ... here.

Check back often!

Or Don't!
