Our motto here is "Think Outside the Box!" Flight Simulator has always been designed as an extensible platform with which you can customize and personalize your experience. We take great pride in this fact, and actively encourage anyone interested to become part of the Flight Simulator Developer Community.
 
In this section of FSInsider, I'll try to bring you new information, helpful hints, tips and tricks, and anything of interest to both newbies and experienced developers. The simulated world of Flight Simulator has many facets, and there are many ways in which you could explore building add-ons for the base product. From aircraft, to scenery, to missions, to programs, the only limit to what you can create is your own imagination.

That said, our Software Development Kit is quite extensive and esoteric in nature. There's a lot to learn, and my hope is that what you read here will speed the process along.
 
The Software Development Kit (or SDK as we like to call it) is the heart of developing add-ons for Flight Simulator. It can be found on Disk 1 of Flight Simulator X Deluxe, with various updates available in our Downloads section.  The articles and other information posted here will supplement this SDK, and will hopefully provide even more clarity and food for thought.
